Dan has snowboarded before, so he thought he would naturally transition on to skis today. For a beginner skier, he's pretty good! We had a terrific time and had some pizza at DaVonza's. Beautiful bluebird skies. We were so glad he finally made it out to Park City with us!!

Lazy Sunday: Brunch at High West and Olympic Sights
We thought Dan would enjoy a nice easy start to the week, so we went to the High West Whiskey Distillery in Wanship for brunch. They have incredible views, and the food is even better than the landscape. We will show him around town next--Park City held several 2002 Winter Olympic Games events. The museums have some interesting exhibits he might like. The weather is brutal and we hope for a clear New Year's Eve! Brrrr
New Year's Week in Park City with Danny
We are here! It will be a fun week of skiing, food, and fun! First stop is our favorite Utah Mexican place. I can't wait to show Dan the mountains and our condo. He seems happy seeing the view as we drive to Park City from the airport.

Danny's coming with us!
I'm so excited that my brother, Danny, is joining us in Park City this December. We finally get to show him our favorite town and can't wait to ski with him. Hooray!

Park City Spring Break 2018
Nothing like skiing past relics from the silver mining days in Park City, Utah!
And the Utah Capitol Building...a gorgeous structure inside and out with a beautiful view of the city.

Glacier Walking and the Elusive Northern Lights
We had quite a full last day and night in Iceland as we finished our tour with the group and returned to Reykjavik for one more night before flying home. Because conditions were not optimal for viewing the Northern Lights the last few days in the countryside, we decided to try one last time-although that meant leaving the hotel at 10 pm and returning at 1 am. Did I mention it was below freezing? Oh yeah, it's Iceland... But to our surprise, even with an activity level predicted at 2 on the 9 point scale, we managed to see a faint, green glow across the sky. It was clear and cold. We could not feel our feet. There was not much "dancing." But hey, we saw them!!
I walked along Svínafellsjökull glacier, where parts of seasons 3, 4, and this season's finale of Game of Thrones were filmed. The glacier served as the backdrop for Jon Snow's battle with the White Walkers.

On the way back to Reykjavik...basalt beach
And finally, we visited Höfði, site of the 1986 Reykjavík Summit meeting of presidents Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev, one of the first steps toward ending the Cold War.
Mom, I had a wonderful time with you in Iceland. Thank you for inviting me to join you on the trip of a lifetime. I love you!!!
